Welcome back to our master bathroom remodel project. We are in week 3 of the One Room Challenge; 3 weeks to go until the final reveal. This week we started tiling.

If you are interested in catching up, you can read the previous posts here: Week 1 and Week 2.

PHOTOS FROM LAST WEEK

Last week we completed rough carpentry, moved the shower plumbing from the left side to the right side of the shower space, and ran electrical for the new recessed lights.

MASTER BATHROOM REMODEL WEEK 3

Quite a lot of progress has been made, even though it appears to be slow going. First, the drywall is up. Drywall takes a couple of days to get in and mudded. We also have the new recessed lighting in. We are adding 3 small recessed lights so lighting will no longer be an issue in this room!

The tile started to go in this week as well. We went with a Bianco Carrera marble. We picked through the pieces to find tiles that looked similar. Pro tip: if you are buying natural stone, like a marble tile, you must be prepared to look at every single piece of tile. Not all the pieces in the box, even if they came from the same exact quarry, are going to look the same.

I love the almost blue look of the tile. My hair and my husbands sock fuzzies are going to look great on this tile every day.

For next week: our goal is to get the tile up in the shower. The cabinet will be ready to install once the flooring is finished. After the cabinet is in, we can have the stone guy template and install the marble countertop. We also need the stone guy to template and install the curb on the pony wall so the glass guy can begin installation.

SHOPPING

Projects like this are for splurging on the little details. Or at least that is the story I am sticking with.

First, I purchased large white shampoo and conditioner bottles like those in the image below from Driven by Decor. These bottles will be practical and much nicer than the bulky bottles I currently have.

Love these pretty pump bottles for shampoo and conditioner!

Serena & Lily are offering 20% off everything in the store with the code LOVEHOME. It is their fall design event. I decided to say yes and bought these hand towels. They are a little pricey, but they will make me smile every time I use them.

The second item I bought from Serena & Lily was the Healdsburg Bath Rug. It is made completely by hand with Turkish cotton and includes lovely tassels. We all know how much I love tassels!!
