FURNITURE ORDERED THIS WEEK

Most of this project is centered around new furniture. We don’t have any walls to paint, any tile to lay, or anything to be built. To say the least, this is a simple renovation project. I am glad because most of our projects are huge to-do’s that have an overwhelming amount of tasks to complete.

This week I purchased our new night stands and the new dresser. I even found an ottoman for the end of the bed. I wasn’t originally intending to add an ottoman at the end of the bed, but the husband talked me into it. He really likes having a place to put on his shoes in the morning. The best part? Everything was on sale. The night stands and dresser were both 25% off and the ottoman was 50% off.

Tomorrow I am going to order the curtains and new duvet. Also tomorrow the night stands and ottoman will be delivered. Wednesday the dresser will be delivered. Thursday our cable company will add a new cable line. This will allow us to move the TV once the new dresser is in place. That means that Saturday we will be able to move the bed. This project is really going to get really exciting once the bed has been moved.

THE DESIGN PLAN AND PROJECT OUTLINE

There are four more weeks until time is up. The following part of the project have been completed:

Week 1 – Schedule the cable company to come out and install a new cable line. Order the dresser and night stands as they are on sale.

The remaining project plan by week is as follows:

Week 2 – Make room for the night stands in other parts of the house. Put the dresser up for sale. Update the furniture configuration.

Week 3 – Touch up the paint on the window frame, hang the new drapery rod, hang the new curtains. Order sign for over the bed.

Week 4 – Pick up new bedding, lamps, and install a new ceiling fan.

Week 5 – Paint art for the walls, pick up frames for photos.

Week 6 –  Add remaining decorative elements and make the bed.
