Upgrade Your Decor | Stylish Record Players

A couple of weeks ago I shared my 17 by the end of 17.  (You can read it here.) It was list of 17 things I wish to accomplish before the end of 2017.  One of my goals includes buying a record player for our dining room.  A record player would be a stylish, but practical addition to our space.

My husband and I are big fans of vinyl.  The analog format makes for a clear sound that has more depth and texture than a MP3.  We have a number of records that we have inherited and others we have bought over the years.  It would be nice to actually listen to them.

MY RECORD PLAYER WISH LIST

I had a small wishlist when it came to purchasing a record player.  I wanted one that had internal speakers so it would have a smaller footprint.  This was important for aesthetics as well as space.  My design plan included adding the record player to the sideboard in our dining room.  This would allow us to be able to play music while cooking in the kitchen or while hanging out in the living room.

I wanted a record player that was modern, but had a classic look.  I wanted it to be timeless.  It would be nice to purchase one record player that we would find beautiful and aesthetically pleasing for years to come.

One other requirement was the dust cover.  I really wanted a record player with an easy to close dust cover. Dust covers, although common to most players, can be a different from unit to unit.  Some do not cover the record completely, leaving space for dust to enter the unit.  Some have covers that close, making the unit look like a small suitcase.  I was looking for a player with a clear dust cover so I could close it while in use.

My final requirement for the record player was that it had Bluetooth.  It would be nice to stream music or podcasts from my phone.

STYLISH RECORD PLAYERS

I performed a Google search for record players.  I found that I really liked the selection on Amazon.com.  There are hundreds to choose from.  I spent a few hours combing through each of them.

Some were larger because they did not have internal speakers.  Some required a pre-amp for sound.  Some had cassette players.  There was someone for everyone.   If you have been thinking of upgrading your decor with a record player, here is a list of my favorite stylish record players you can buy on amazon:

WHAT WE BOUGHT

We purchased a unit by 1byone with a rather long name: Belt Driven Bluetooth Turntable with Built-in Stereo Speaker, Vintage Style Record Player, Vinyl-To-MP3 Recording, Natural Wood.  The name doesn’t quite slide off the tongue, but it sure is pretty!

Here are a few details about the record player we bought:

  • Traditional Style, Solid Wood Appearance & Dust Cover – with selectable 33 / 45 / 78 PRM speeds settings.
  • Vinyl-to-MP3 Recording – the ability to transform audio from vinyl records into USB mp3 format and save it on your MP3 player.
  • Built-in Full Range Stereo Speakers – the stereo active 2-way crossover system creates an optimized sound and clarity across all genres of music.
  • Bluetooth & Plug and Play – Compatible with all of your Favorite Devices (iPhone, Android, Smartphone, Tablet, PC, USB-MP3 Player, etc).
  • Classic Turntable Design with Modern Technology – A balanced blend of modernity and mid-century charm, but with all modern key features.

Here are a few shots of our new record player.

We are really looking forward to spending time relaxing and listening to music.
