One Room Challenge | Neutral & Relaxing Guest Room Makeover

I have decided to participate in the Sprint 2018 One Room Challenge.  As you  may remember, I participated in the Fall 2017 One Room Challenge and made over my downstairs half bathroom.  I really enjoyed the experience as well the end result.  Sometimes I just stand in the doorway of the bathroom and just stare at it.  It is a simple space, but still so pretty.  You can read all of those posts here:

Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6

Welcome to week 1 of the Spring 2018 One Room Challenge!  Over the next five weeks I will transform my boring guest room into a relaxing space that will pamper my guests. On with the challenge!

MY CURRENT GUEST ROOM

My guest room currently is a bit on the boring side.  The husband and I started on it last year and lost steam.  We painted the walls and bought a new bed.  And then we completely gave up.

Our windows need curtains in order to give our guests privacy and to block out the street lights.

We started changing out the electrical outlets from beige to white.  Most of them are complete, however a couple of them still look like this.

We also started painting the door.  The door is currently primed and does not have a door knob installed.  We are using a screw to keep the door closed.  I have a cute little puppy that likes to poop in the corner.

The room needs nightstands.  The chair is currently acting as a table as well as two boxes stacked on top of one another on the other side.  Not very classy. Or practical.

The guest room has become the island of misfit toys.  We need to find a permanent home for a number of things, such as the hardwood floor cleaner.  It might even be time to throw some stuff out.

  1. Ohh, this is going to be gorgeous! That curtains are positively dreamy. I’m tackling my (master) bedroom this time around, and I’m going to be doing a lot of white and navy accents too. I’ll be sure to check back in on your progress!
