There are a few other things I would like to share with you….

My husband took the dogs to the groomer last week.  Laila, our Yorkie, has to get her hair cut about every 6 weeks.  She is a little high maintenance, much like her mother.  We got her hair cut short for the summer.  She looks so cute. (I had to tease her with a cookie to get her to look at the camera.)

Maisy, our Chihuahua, doesn’t get doggie spa days.  We do have to get her nails clipped, but she doesn’t get the full package the way that Laila does.  I joked to my husband that we should get her nails painted to make it even.

He actually did it!  The pink polish looks so cute with her gray coat.  The only thing is that Maisy didn’t sit still so the polish is in her hair, too.

A few other fun things…

We just finished season 1 of an amazing new show on Netflix, Ozark.  It stars Jason Batemen and Laura Linney.  It is a bit dark and not a show I would call family friendly.  I can’t say too much without giving everything away, however we were hooked after one episode.  I watched episode 1 when my husband was taking a nap.  After he woke up, I immediately made him watch.  If you liked Breaking Bad or House of Cards, this is going to be your cup of tea.

I recently got hooked on the show This is Us with Justin Hartley.  It was recommended by one of my co-workers.  Not a comedy either.  She didn’t give me any details, but suggested I watch because it stars the handsome Justin Hartley.  I found out that it is an excellent option for when you need a good cry. They should be about to start up season 2.  Get on this bandwagon, if you aren’t already!  It is heartfelt and will leave you feeling good about your life.

I just finished a book titled Beach Town written by Atlanta’s own Mary Kay Andrews.

I picked this book up from Barnes and Nobel.  You an get one here.

I love to read.  I try to get at least a couple of hours of me time in early in the morning on the weekends.  I am a big fan of keeping a regular schedule.  The husband?  Not so much.  I am up by about 8 am on Saturday and Sunday and  I then head down to my office.  I have a large, over-sized chair that is perfect for reading. (Thank you uncle Allen!)  I make a cup of coffee and start reading!

If you are looking for something light and delightful, I highly recommend this book.  I have read a few of Mary Kay Andrews’s books and loved each of them.

Another fun thing…

I was invited to do a product review for Sephora.  The product is Marc Jacobs new Eye-conic multi-finish eye palette. This is what the outside looks like:

The inside:

It arrived today so I haven’t had a chance to put any of it on.  I will let you know if it turns out to be worth the $50 price tag.

One more thing before you go…

We started a raised garden this past spring.  We had to go with a raised garden because we didn’t have an ideal place to plant herbs and vegetables.  The small beds we have also have drainage pipes and cable lines running through them.  I started digging and kept finding crap.  Also, we living in Atlanta.  This place is full of clay.  I feel like I am digging on a baseball field every time I start rooting around on the ground.  In summary, conditions were not ideal.

For the most part, it has been a lot of watering and fertilizing without any return.  I had the camera out this weekend doing a little photo shoot for the blog. (I like having a lot of photos to choose from when I am writing!)  I got a picture of our first okra. One.  I don’t mean our first crop; I mean one single okra.  It isn’t going to change the world, but she is pretty!
